In brief Bitcoin traded around $86,000 on Monday, roughly $1,200 below the $87,354 swing high that has capped the rally.
Macroeconomic winds have turned in Bitcoin's favor, with potential future catalysts around the corner.
The daily chart has painted a decidedly bullish picture, with Bitcoin entering a second, stronger "golden cross."
Bitcoin is starting the week on the front foot. It still can't clear the ceiling, but investors have reason to be optimistic.
The top crypto asset traded around $86,100 on Monday morning, up 1.14% in 24 hours, with a market capitalization of $1.73 trillion. The entire crypto market is worth $2.94 trillion, up 1.36% on the day, and the Fear & Greed Index sits at 68, still in "greed" territory and stabilizing sentiment after a dip from “extreme greed” readings last month.
The spark was Friday's jobs report, and it was ugly—for the economy, that is. U.S. employers added only 29,000 positions in September, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, roughly a third of what economists expected. The unemployment rate ticked up to 4.2%.
Revisions made it worse. July was revised from a gain of 21,000 to a loss of 10,000 jobs, and August was cut from 162,000 to 133,000. Annual wage growth cooled to 3.0%.
Bad news for workers, good news for risk assets. That's the weird math of this cycle.
Bitcoin price data. Image: Tradingview
The Federal Reserve raised rates a quarter point to 3.75%-4.00% on September 16 in a unanimous vote. A week before Friday's report, bond traders gave an October hike a 64% chance. After it, those odds fell to roughly 16%-22%, depending on the snapshot.
It is the mirror image of last month. On September 4, a blowout August report sent Bitcoin sliding more than 2% to near $79,300 as hike bets rose. Bitcoin now trades about 8% above that level.
Stocks cheered too. The S&P 500 closed Friday at 7,722.72, up 0.73%, while the Nasdaq gained 1.19% to 27,190.86 and the Dow added 0.49% to 51,176.96. Nvidia hit a fresh record high, and stock futures edged higher Sunday night.
Altcoins are mixed. Ethereum trades at $2,711, up 0.59%, and XRP is at $1.51, up 0.81%. Solana slipped 0.91% to $120.31. All the top 10 altcoins are in the green, but not a single one has moved more than 1%, except for Hyperliquid, which is up 3.68% on the day to $93.17 and 6% on the week.
ETF money is not fading either. U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $189.84 million in net inflows on the latest daily reading, with total net assets at $101.1 billion, according to Decrypt data.
Bitcoin price: Rejected at the door, but pushing up with force
The chart explains the hesitation. On the daily time frame, the $87,354 high remains the line to beat.
Momentum is strong. The Relative Strength Index, which scores recent gains against losses on a 0-100 scale where readings above 70 are considered overbought, sits at 64.7 which is hot but not extremely overbought. The Average Directional Index, which measures trend strength regardless of direction and reads above 25 as a strong trend, is at 43.4.
Exponential moving averages, or EMAs, track the average price over a set number of days while giving more weight to recent days. A golden cross happens when a faster EMA climbs above a slower one. The chart shows the 50-day EMA (the average price of the last 50 days) above the 200-day EMA, the classic version of a golden cross. This happened in mid-September as Bitcoin registered the second best performance in that month, ever.
But an even stronger sign has just appeared as the 100-day EMA has now also crossed above the 200 day. You can see it in the following chart. The 100-day EMA being the dotted white line.
Why is the 100/200 cross even more bullish? Because it's harder to fake. A sharp two-month bounce can drag the 50-day EMA over the 200 day. To pull the slower 100-day EMA over the 200 day, the price of Bitcoin has to stay elevated for months, which means BTC has not just bounced from the sub-$60,000 levels of July but rebuilt its medium-term trend.
Together, the two crosses mean the short-term and medium-term averages both sit above the long-term one. Think of it as a second confirmation of the same story. The catch: EMAs lag, so a golden cross confirms a move that has already happened rather than predicting the next one.
On Myriad, a prediction market built by Decrypt's parent company Dastan, traders are leaning bullish on a short-term push. In the October highs market, an $87,500 touch trades at 80%, $90,000 at 59%, $95,000 at 25%, and $100,000 at 12%.
As far as future catalysts, the week's calendar is short but loaded. The Fed releases the minutes of its September meeting on Wednesday, October 7, at 2:00 p.m. ET, and the BLS publishes September CPI on October 14. The Fed's next policy meeting runs October 27-28, with a press conference on October 28 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

On-chain equities are turning Saturdays and Sundays into trading days as decentralized exchanges absorb demand Wall Street leaves on the table
Tokenized stocks generated $3.96 billion in weekend trading volume on decentralized exchanges in September. That figure is 106 times higher than it was in November.
Tokenized stocks are blockchain tokens designed to track the price of a traditional share, ones that can move through crypto infrastructure at any hour. Because DEXs never close, those tokens can change hands on a Sunday morning.
Over the Labor Day weekend, tokenized stocks generated more than $1 billion in volume. That’s comparable to what the category does on a regular trading day.
One September snapshot recorded roughly $2.95 billion in weekend volume inside a broader 30-day total of $15.75 billion.
From rounding error to real market share
Tokenized stocks went from around 0.1% of DEX spot volume at the end of 2025 to more than 4% in 2026.

The active market capitalization for tokenized equities reached approximately $4 billion in September 2026. That’s a 314% increase year to date.
Total value locked for tokenized equities rose from $21.6 million in January to $289 million by September.

Monthly trading volume estimates ranged between $7.9 billion and $18 billion as of late 2026. Cumulative DEX volume over recent periods was estimated at between $15.9 billion and $20.9 billion. Depending on which metric you pick, year-over-year growth could fall anywhere from 10,000% to 30,000%.
Who’s running the venues
The main issuers are bStocks on BNB Chain, xStocks on Solana, and on-chain offerings from Robinhood. Trading runs through Uniswap (both v3 and v4), Raydium and PancakeSwap.
In one 30-day reporting period, Uniswap handled around 60% of volume, about $12.6 billion of a $20.9 billion total.
BNB Chain’s bStocks product frequently led DEX volume and captured more than 90% during peak periods, with approximately 58,000 daily active traders.
Uniswap v4 introduced permissioned pools, which let pool operators restrict who can trade.
What this means for traders and the market
Tokenized equities are now competing in stature with meme coins inside DeFi, but they remain far behind the trillions of dollars in global equities. A roughly $4 billion market cap is substantial for an on-chain category and tiny next to the stocks it tracks.
Liquidity is split across BNB Chain, Solana and Ethereum-based venues, plus multiple issuers. The same company’s stock can exist as several different tokens with different structures.
TVL growth from $21.6 million to $289 million in locked capital suggests users are building positions and providing liquidity, not just flipping tokens on a Saturday.

U.S. CFTC joins SEC in proposing crypto regulations, though spot-market gap lingers

"Today, the CFTC is doing its part to deliver clear rules of the road for crypto asset markets with its advanced notice of proposed rulemaking on Regulation Crypto Asset Transactions (Regulation CTX) and Regulation Crypto Asset Markets (Regulation CAM)," CFTC Chairman Mike Selig said in remarks prepared for delivery at Fordham Law's annual Blockchain Regulatory Symposium. "These rules would codify a pathway for crypto asset exchanges to operate under uniform national oversight by the CFTC pursuant to the same statutory authorities that the prior administration instead utilized to regulate by enforcement."
But the effort may continue to leave a significant gap because of the regulator's missing authority to oversee spot markets — the direct trading of crypto in which the assets change hands in their original form at current market prices, without leverage or margin considerations. That would include the unvarnished buying and selling of the largest swath of crypto tokens, such as bitcoin BTC $86,323.45 and Ethereum's ether ETH $2,703.52, with one major exception: The CFTC can still police fraud and manipulation in those markets.
The agency's new efforts otherwise can't touch or replace the states' money-transmission regulations as the governing rules of direct trading, though CFTC officials said that firms that want to offer more complex products would do so through tailored, CFTC-regulated platforms. The officials said they're not yet sure what the scale of the remaining spot market will be until they hear more from the industry in the 60-day public comment period these proposals are opening up, though they suggested that consumers may prefer to do business in the federally regulated space.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has unveiled its first set of dedicated rules for the crypto market, dubbed Regulation CTX and Regulation CAM. The proposed regulations aim to establish a voluntary federal framework for exchanges dealing in Bitcoin and Ether. This move is part of the CFTC’s efforts to formalize oversight of crypto exchanges and spot markets, which have previously operated with limited regulatory guidance. The proposal remains in the early stages of federal review, and its full details have yet to be disclosed, marking a significant step towards regulatory clarity in the crypto sector.
Key Takeaways
The CFTC’s proposal appears to indicate a move towards regulatory clarity, which is consistent with increased confidence in crypto markets.
Market pricing suggests that participants view this regulatory development as supportive of a possible increase in Bitcoin’s market value.
The proposal is still under federal review, indicating that the CFTC is taking a proactive stance in the absence of comprehensive congressional legislation.
What to Watch
Observers will closely monitor the progress of the CFTC’s proposal through the federal review process, which could influence market confidence and pricing dynamics. Key developments to watch include any indications from the U.S. Congress on broader crypto legislation and potential responses from major crypto exchanges. Regulatory actions or announcements by the Federal Reserve could also impact market sentiment and pricing scenarios.

Oct 5 : The US commodities regulator proposed on Monday a new federal framework for cryptocurrency exchanges that offer leveraged digital asset trading, seeking to bring parts of the spot crypto market under federal oversight weeks after Congress failed to advance comprehensive crypto regulation.
The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission's proposed rules would effectively allow US crypto exchanges to opt into a federal regulatory framework instead of relying primarily on a patchwork of state money-transmitter licenses, the agency said.
The proposed rules make use of a specific authority the CFTC has to oversee margined or leveraged spot assets. The CFTC has long sought authority to regulate spot cryptocurrency markets — which currently operate in a regulatory grey area — but only Congress has the ability to provide the regulator with that purview.
"For years, entrepreneurs building on the new frontier of finance faced uncertainty about whether there was a place for them in our markets. We are giving them an answer," said CFTC Chairman Michael Selig in a speech on Monday at an event in New York held by Fordham University's law school.
RULES WOULD ESTABLISH NEW TRADING VENUE CATEGORY
Under the proposed rules, the CFTC would establish a new category of CFTC-regulated trading venues called a "crypto asset market" for exchanges that offer leveraged or margined trading to retail customers. Those platforms would be subject to specific requirements including anti-market-manipulation controls and a "proof of reserves" obligation.
The CFTC is also proposing that registered futures commission merchants intermediate customer trades on the new category of exchanges.
The agency is not stipulating specific leverage limits, but any exchange offering a leveraged transaction would have to clear that product with CFTC staff, the agency said.
The proposed rules come after Congress failed to advance a major crypto bill, called the Clarity Act, which would have created new rules for the $2 trillion cryptocurrency market, putting the industry on a firmer legal footing. One of the key components of the bill was the explicit authority for the CFTC to police the spot crypto market.
The impasse in Congress has put the onus on US President Donald Trump's crypto-friendly regulators, particularly the Securities and Exchange Commission and the CFTC, to give the industry the regulatory clarity it has long argued it lacks.
Still, analysts have said that without legislation, regulations could be vulnerable to the shifting political climate and court challenges, creating lingering hazards for the crypto industry.

Tribulnation SDK
Fully-typed, async Python SDK for crypto trading and data.
Market , Wallet , Earn , and Report are abstract interfaces implemented per exchange and chain. Code written against MarketSDK runs unchanged on dYdX, Hyperliquid, MEXC, or any other supported venue.
Installation
pip install tribulnation-sdk [ dydx,hyperliquid,mexc ]
See the support matrix for details on extras.
Standalone gateway
Install tribulnation-sdk[gateway] for tn gateway and the remote ProxySDK . Venue adapters are installed separately on the server. See the gateway guide for configuration, supported operations and migration details.
Trading Quick Start
from dotenv import load_dotenv from tribulnation.sdk import MarketSDK , accounts load_dotenv () # load credentials from .env file sdk = MarketSDK ( { 'mexc_account1' : accounts . Mexc ( api_key = '$MEXC_API_KEY' , api_secret = '$MEXC_API_SECRET' ), # 'dydx', 'hyperliquid', and 'mexc' are available by default, even without listing them here } ) mexc = await sdk . market ( 'mexc_account1:spot:BTCUSDT' ) dydx = await sdk . market ( 'dydx:perp:BTC-USD' ) async with mexc . trades_stream () as my_trades : async for my_trade in my_trades : print ( f 'Hedging { my_trade } ' ) await dydx . place_order ( { 'type' : 'LIMIT' , 'qty' : - my_trade . qty , 'price' : my_trade . price , } )
accounts.<Venue>() reads credentials from environment variables named after each field ( accounts.Mexc() reads $MEXC_API_KEY / $MEXC_API_SECRET ) — pass explicit values or other $VAR names to override.
Market IDs & Scoping
<account_id>:<exchange_id>:<market_id> , e.g. mexc_account1:spot:BTCUSDT . account_id is the key you registered in accounts — not necessarily the venue's own name — so you can run several accounts on one venue side by side. Equivalent ways to reach a market:
await sdk . depth ( 'mexc_account1:spot:BTCUSDT' ) venue = await sdk . venue ( 'mexc_account1' ) await venue . depth ( 'spot:BTCUSDT' ) exchange = await venue . exchange ( 'spot' ) await exchange . depth ( 'BTCUSDT' ) market = await exchange . market ( 'BTCUSDT' ) await market . depth ()
Hold a Market reference in hot loops; use the scoped one-shot calls otherwise.
Market Interface
Public data: depth() -> Book depth_stream() -> AsyncContextManager[AsyncIterable[Book]] rules() -> Rules : tick/step size, fees, min/max, rounding helpers candles(interval, start, end) -> PaginatedResponse[Candle] : trade candles opening in [start, end) , with timezone-aware bounds and no ordering guarantee; CANDLE_INTERVALS says which widths a venue serves
User data: query_order(id) -> OrderState | None open_orders() -> Sequence[OrderState] trades_history(start, end) -> AsyncIterable[Sequence[Trade]] trades_stream() -> AsyncContextManager[AsyncIterable[Trade]] position() -> Position available_notional() -> Decimal : max. notional you could open now
Trading: place_order(order) -> OrderResponse place_orders(orders) -> Sequence[OrderResponse] cancel_order(id) cancel_orders(ids) cancel_open_orders()
Perpetual markets: index() -> Decimal next_funding() -> FundingRate funding_rates(start, end=None) -> AsyncIterable[Sequence[FundingRate]] : market-wide rate history funding_payments(start, end) -> AsyncIterable[Sequence[FundingPayment]] : your own settled cashflows perp_position() -> PerpPosition : includes entry price
Full reference: docs/market/index.md, with per-venue notes for dYdX, Hyperliquid, and MEXC.
Mutating methods also take an optional settings dict for venue-specific options, keyed by venue:
await dydx . place_order ( { 'type' : 'LIMIT' , 'qty' : 0.01 , 'price' : 60_000 , }, settings = { 'dydx' : { 'order_flags' : 'SHORT_TERM' , 'short_term_gtb' : 2 }}, )
Other SDKs
Same account-mapping shape as MarketSDK :
WalletSDK : deposit/withdrawal methods — docs/wallet.md
: deposit/withdrawal methods — docs/wallet.md EarnSDK : yield instruments — docs/earn.md
: yield instruments — docs/earn.md ReportSDK : balance/position history, with provenance — docs/report.md
Every SDK object is an async context manager: call methods on it directly, or enter it with async with to close its connections at a point you choose. Details: Async Usage.
Error Handling
All errors subclass Error : NetworkError , ValidationError , ApiError ( BadRequest , AuthError , RateLimited ), LogicError .
Context, Logging & Retries
SDK calls are plain by default — no logging, no retries. Wrap them in a Context to add both:
from tribulnation.sdk import Context , NetworkError , RateLimited ctx = Context () . retried ( NetworkError , RateLimited , max_retries = 5 ) . logged () with ctx . use (): await sdk . place_order ( 'mexc_account1:spot:BTCUSDT' , { 'type' : 'LIMIT' , 'qty' : 0.01 , 'price' : 60_000 } )
Retries back off exponentially and only wrap plain async calls, not streams or paginated history. Nested SDK calls each re-apply the active context, so retries can compound across scoping layers. Details: Context, Logging & Retries.
